12 Things You Learn Rewatching Avengers: Endgame

One watch isn't enough to catch everything in this MCU epic.

A famous man once said that part of journey is the end. Of course, Tony Stark was posthumously referencing his own untimely death when he said it, but these words were also poignant for the Infinity Saga.

Marvel Studios spent a decade crafting characters, stories, and one bigger overarching narrative that truly captured the imaginations and hearts of the entire world. After 21 movies, the final chapter in the book was Avengers: Endgame; the biggest and most epic instalments in any comic book movie franchise to date.

To say it took the world by storm is an understatement. Aside from just MCU and comic fans, Endgame reached almost everyone as it took its place atop the list as the highest grossing movie in the history of cinema.

However, clocking in at around three hours meant that there was a LOT to see and a lot to unpack. Naturally, some details, themes, or call-backs would be missed initially with everything else going on around them. Despite its run time, Avengers: Endgame doesn't ever feel bloated or too long, and a rewatch is never a bad idea - particularly knowing that there is always likely something to pick up on that was missed the first time around.

12. Howard The Duck

When Hulk snapped his fingers and brought back to life everyone that had been killed by Thanos five years earlier, he essentially guaranteed as full a team as possible to fight against the Mad Titan.

Thanks to Doctor Strange and Wong, everyone was transported to the now destroyed Avengers HQ at just the right time. The Guardians, Spider-Man, Wanda, Bucky, T'Challa, an entire Wakandan army, the Ravagers, Valkyrie, Hope, and so many more were brought back, including one 'hero' that fans absolutely wouldn't have expected.

When Doctor Strange asked Wong if that was everybody, this included Howard the Duck. The character had appeared in the post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy, and was partying with the Ravagers in Volume 2, but quite how he got on Doctor Strange's radar, and why the Sorcerer Supreme thought he was needed for the battle are a mystery.

It is a blink and you'll miss it appearance, but Howard can be seen entering the battlefield just behind Wasp if you know where to look. Even then the pause button is usually required. None of his interaction in the battle was shown after this, but it's hard to imagine him taking down too many Chitauri Leviathans or Outriders.
