Since we haven’t seen Red Skull at all after his defeat in Captain America: The First Avenger, it’d be fair to say on his return to the franchise many people expected we’d missed a lot in terms of what he’d been up to since the Second World War.

Turns out these expectations were perhaps not well-founded, as the villain had been trapped on Vormir – the planet holding the Soul Stone – since he lost against Captain America in 1945, as after their fight the Tesseract would transport Skull to the planet to become the Stonekeeper.

Although nobody should ever really feel bad for a man who willingly and eagerly joined the SS, being stuck on a desolate planet without so much as Uno for company does sound like a pretty bad time.
