6. Star-Lord Is A Secret Badass

With Star-Lord being by far one of the goofiest, most comedic characters in the MCU, it’s easy to forget that he isn’t all just jealousy towards Thor and funny quips. Peter’s willingness to follow Gamora’s request and kill her if she is captured by Thanos really shows the committed, determined heart that beats under the layers of hilarious one-liners – especially as at this point of the film it’s been made abundantly clear to us just how much he cares for her.

Not only this, but Star-Lord proves himself as way better at fighting than his dance-battle antics would suggest he was capable of. He holds his own against Iron Man and Spider-Man with an almost surprising ease, and even manages to be a pretty decent help in the fight against Thanos – until that one point, of course. Can’t win them all.
