12 Things You Learn Rewatching Casino Royale

12. It's Got The Best Gun Barrel Sequence In The Series

Somewhat aptly, Casino Royale follows up Die Another Day's franchise-worst CGI gun barrel sequence with easily the best of all 24 movies to date.

Rather than opening the film, the gun barrel is placed at the end of the pre-title sequence as a direct lead into the title sequence, and furthermore actually functions as an element of the plot.

After almost drowning a corrupt MI6 station chief's contact, Fisher (Darwin Shaw), in a bathroom, Bond spins around, firing his pistol and killing Fisher before he can fire his own gun.

By elevating an iconic Bond staple to become an actual narrative element and doing so in ludicrously cool fashion, none of the other movies' gun barrels really even come close.
