12 Things You Learn Rewatching Diamonds Are Forever

1. It's The Most Boring Bond Film

Diamonds Are Forever commits the cardinal sin of being both silly and boring, making it quite decisively the worst Bond film up to this point, and quite arguably the worst ever.

Largely due to Connery's miserable performance, the more outrageous scenes don't really land with the fun bite that they should, and most of it ends up weirdly forgettable.

Long stretches of the film are an absolute chore to sit through, no matter how many times Hamilton changes-up the scenery. It didn't help that it came hot off the heels of one of the very best Bond movies ever, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which was a decidedly more serious, entertaining and well-crafted movie in every respect.

If you decided to skip this one during your Bond rewatch, nobody would blame you, as it doesn't really endure as anything more than a fascinatingly bad artefact of the series at its worst.
