12 Things You Learn Rewatching For Your Eyes Only

4. The Musical Score Is Weird & Distracting

For Your Eyes Only has the most peculiar musical score of any Bond movie since The Spy Who Loved Me, where Marvin Hamlisch's disco-influenced musical stylings proved hilariously distracting.

Here, Bill Conti adds some funk and dance music influence to the usual brassy bombast fans associate with Bond movie scores, and the results are...bizarre.

These funky licks are typically saved for the action sequences, and they just don't really feel like they fit with what we're watching on-screen, to the point that you might actively notice the disparity and be constantly distracted by it.

It's somewhat fitting, really, considering how utterly tone-deaf the movie is throughout. Why would the musical arrangement be any different?
