12 Things You Learn Rewatching GoldenEye

6. The Perrier Product Placement Is Absolutely Ridiculous

The Brosnan and Craig Bond movies generally feature a good deal more product placement than in previous eras, and GoldenEye is certainly no exception.

Among the more obvious paid placements are BMW, IBM computers, Omega watches, BT, British Airways, and most egregiously, Perrier bottled water.

During the sequence in which 007 rides a tank through the streets of St. Petersburg, he crashes the tank into a Perrier truck, sending its contents all over the road.

The camera lovingly lingers on the truck, with its logo firmly visible throughout, in what's nothing if not some shameless cinematic shilling.

Depressingly, it's rather reminiscent of a similar sequence from the most recent Transformers: Age of Extinction, where a robot crashes into a Bud Light truck, and Mark Wahlberg loving takes a swig of one of the discarded bottles. Gross.
