12 Things You Learn Rewatching Quantum Of Solace

1. The Gun Barrel Sequence Perfectly Encapsulates What The Movie Is

Many fans were outraged that the movie didn't open with the expected gun barrel sequence, instead pushing it to the end of the film. It's a nitpick, really, but what's more interesting is how it's a rarest of gun barrel sequences that actually reflects the style, tone and mood of the movie itself.

The sequence is rather fast and aggressive compared to other gun barrel sequences: Craig walks with a sure purpose and fires quickly, reflecting the movie's vengeful through-line, breezy 106-minute run-time and rather snappy - yet arguably rushed - pacing.

Placing the gun barrel at the end of the film also cements that this is the conclusion of Bond's two-movie revenge arc, allowing Skyfall to begin as its own, standalone sortie.

Some fans don't like the breaking from tradition, but the gun barrel's still in there, so does its placement really matter all that much?
