12 Things You Learn Rewatching Quantum Of Solace

5. Mathis' Death Is Unintentionally Hilarious

Bond's old buddy René Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) ends up dying at the end of Quantum's second act, and what's supposed to be a raw, emotional death scene is unfortunately rendered accidentally hilarious.

Almost immediately after Mathis expires, Bond grabs his corpse and throws it in a nearby dumpster.

Though the intent is to display Bond's callousness - but he insists Mathis wouldn't care anyway - nowadays the scene conjures up imagery of the iconic It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode "A Very Sunny Christmas", where Danny DeVito famously quips, "When I'm dead, just throw me in the trash."

Granted, Mathis' inclusion in the movie and the intended emotional payoff all feels a tad rushed anyway, but the 2010 It's Always Sunny episode has almost completely ruined this scene in retrospect.
