6. Strawberry Fields Is A Totally Pointless Character
Why was MI6 agent Strawberry Fields (Gemma Arterton) even in this movie? To give Bond someone to shag, of course, and honestly not a lot else.
The preposterously-monikered character was reportedly intended to be a throwback to classic 1960s Bond girls, and considering she's a useless dolt who dies after getting a scarce few minutes of screen time, they basically nailed it.
Arterton's fine enough in the role, but she's almost 20 years Craig's junior, she contributes virtually nothing to the plot, and even her Goldfinger-homaging death scene isn't all that interesting.
Given that Camille temporarily disappears from the movie at this point, it would've made far more sense to focus the narrative on her rather than haphazardly introduce another Bond girl for no logical reason.
