12 Things You Learn Rewatching Skyfall

4. It's A Little Too Long

Mostly terrific though the film is, it's fair to say that its 143-minute runtime is a little on the trying side. It's the third-longest Bond film ever, running just five minutes shorter than the "winner", Spectre, and a whole minute less than Casino Royale, but on repeat viewings that length does make itself felt.

A big part of the problem is that the film is effectively one breadcrumb-following set-piece after another until Silva shows up, and after that, his wildly convoluted plan takes an extremely long time to play out.

As such, there are a few times where you might find yourself wishing things to move along a little faster, because were it curtailed by even just 10 or 15 minutes, the whole would feel so much more concise. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but there are a few moments that outstay their welcome a little bit.
