12 Things You Learn Rewatching Skyfall
3. It's Got The Best Finale Of The Franchise
This isn't said lightly: the final 30 minutes of Skyfall are by far the best finale of any Bond film to date.
Casino Royale probably comes a close second, but Skyfall's combination of a hauntingly beautiful Scottish locale, a fleshed-out backstory for Bond, Albert freaking Finney ("Welcome to Scotland!"), a fiery, Home Alone-style action sequence and M's emotional death make this a peerless way to end a Bond flick.
That's not to forget the introductions of Naomie Harris' new Moneypenny nor Ralph Fiennes' new M, which tidily usher in a new era for 007. Considering how utterly devoid of emotion and sentiment most of the Bond films are, to see the series serving up a well-earned, tear-jerking finale was quite the cathartic experience indeed.
It's got action, drama, beautiful visuals, incredible sound design and neatly sets the table for the next movie. What more could you want?
