12 Things You Learn Rewatching Skyfall

10. The CGI Isn't Great...

Though Skyfall makes sensibly sparing use of visual effects, most of its brief dalliances with CGI are, honestly, pretty rough.

From the tawdry title sequence to the various green-screen shots of Bond (Daniel Craig) doing dangerous things (riding a motorcycle on a rooftop and standing perilously atop a train) to the distracting Komodo dragon in the casino scene and Silva's digital facial deformity, it all looks a touch out of place.

Even with the film costing roughly $200 million, clearly more money needed to be allocated to the VFX budget, because these exuberant moments ultimately pull the viewer out of the experience rather than provide a greater sense of thrilled immersion.

Nobody needs it to look perfect, but a little better, please? And if you can't create a convincing close-up of Craig riding a bike, maybe stick to wide shots? Nobody believes he's pulling a Tom Cruise here and doing it himself, so there's no need to sell the lie this aggressively.
