While we noted earlier that Bond has a few edgier moments in this movie that hint at a far darker and more interesting interpretation of the character, there is one harsh bit of behaviour that really doesn't play well at all.

A young boy, clearly dirt poor, is struggling to sell some of his wooden elephants to tourists, so in desperation he leaps onto Bond's boat and tries to hock him some of his wares.

Bond tells him, "I'll give you 20,000 baht if you can make this thing go faster", and when the kid flips a switch which does just that, Bond shoves him off the boat into the water, telling him, "I'll have to owe you."

This is another aspect of the script that Moore wasn't especially happy about shooting, though this time his ambivalence actually makes sense: Bond just comes across as needlessly mean and cruel. A rich, privileged white guy abusing a poor foreigner isn't exactly a good look.
