12 Things You Learn Rewatching You Only Live Twice

10. Nancy Sinatra's Title Song Deserved A Much Better Movie

Whatever you make of You Only Live Twice as a whole, it's hard to argue with the brilliance of Nancy Sinatra's iconic title song, one of the more memorable early Bond tunes that, honestly, was deserving of a far better film.

Like many of the best Bond songs, it foregrounds a fantastic musical voice with an unexpectedly haunting undercurrent, hinting at a more sinister potential that, ultimately, the film doesn't even begin to realise.

The fact that the song still gets plenty of play in pop-culture - being memorably used in the final scene of Mad Men's fifth season - is the ultimate testament to its brilliant staying power. While much of the movie has aged horribly, this sure hasn't.
