12 Times DCEU Movies Completely Changed The Comics

7. Steve Trevor's Fate - Wonder Woman

Lex Luthor DCEU
Warner Bros.

Undoubtedly the best film in the franchise, 2017's Wonder Woman was an entertaining film that acted as a brilliant character piece for the film's two leads, Diana of Themyscira (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine); two of the most well-developed characters in the franchise. Their chemistry and short-lived relationship was a joy to watch and played a significant role in humanizing the movie.

Unfortunately, Trevor's life was cut short after he sacrificed his life to save London from a poison gas bombardment, driving Diana to a brief episode filled with rage and grief during her clash with Ares, the God of War. This contrasts with the comic incarnation of the character, who lives beyond his first adventure with Diana and even becomes a United States liaison to the Justice League in some storylines.

However, the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 shows that Steve is very much alive and well despite the events of the first film. It remains to be seen how his resurrection played out and whether it will stick beyond the sequel's own event
