12 Times DCEU Movies Completely Changed The Comics

6. Batman's Ethos - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

The Dark Knight is well-known for his staunch 'no-killing rule' when fighting crimes in the streets of Gotham City. However, this rule has been bent in recent comics and outright ignored or non-existent in various alternate realities or adaptations (especially films). This is most notably seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where an older, more jaded Caped Crusader dishes out justice in an extremely violent manner that disregards human life.

This iteration of the hero is inspired by Frank Miller's seminal rendition of the character in terms of design, age, loss of a Robin and a cynical approach towards heroism. However, there are a few key differences; DCEU Batman never retired and as mentioned earlier, he goes beyond simply incapacitating evildoers.

This is seen in the film's car chase and warehouse sequences where the Bat runs over Lex Luthor's mercenaries with his Batmobile and literally bashes their heads in the latter sequence. Cinema had never seen such a brutal and murderous Batman up until this point.
