12 Times Gandalf Seriously Dropped The Ball

4. That Time He Collapsed A Bridge While Standing On It

Ok, so obviously this is a flaw in the Fellowship which is always mentioned, but that's because it was such a rookie mistake. Gandalf and the fellowship are running from the fiery demon Balrog. They cross a stone bridge, and the fellowship make it to the other side. But Gandalf stops half way across, and turns and starts shouting mean things at the best that's bearing down on him. And then HE DESTROYS THE BRIDGE WHILE HE'S STILL STANDING ON IT. Sure, it looks like everything might be ok; the demon falls from the bridge, the wizard turns and looks to the others; audiences in cinemas across the world sigh with relief - but then the demon's whip grabs him by his ankle. That's the last anyone sees of Gandalf - until The Two Towers, anyway. Note: don't break surfaces that are holding your weight. Because obviously a monster will use this extra space to take advantage by playing fish with it's whip.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
