12 Trash Movies (That You Definitely Love Anyway)

3. The Boondock Saints

Before he became the coolest man in The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus was most well-known in certain circles as the co-lead in this poster child for cult classic movies.

Accused of being juvenile and vulgar and an attempt to rip off Quentin Tarantino without understanding his nuances, The Boondock Saints crashed and burned critically AND commercially when it was first released. And you can see why: it is a nasty film, it's poorly written, it has all sorts of undeserved swagger and it doesn't seem to be all that aware of how silly it is.

But despite all of that, Troy Duffy's violent epic (which spawned a terrible sequel some years later) is a riot to watch. If you take almost everything in the script as hilarious instead of just bad, it's a joyful experience, but even without that it's weirdly infectious.
