2. Dumbo
''They're here!/ And there!/ Pink elephants everywhere!'' Celebrating a job well done, a group of circus clowns pop open a bottle of champagne; accidentally spilling some into the bucket from where Dumbo is drinking and thus creating one of the most iconic- yet controversial- Disney sequences ever produced. Upon the film's release, audiences were outraged: some complained that the inclusion of alcohol and drunkenness was inappropriate for a children's film, while others simply found the whole thing too frightening. Indeed, as Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse share the same bizarre hallucination, a chorus line of elephants who form like bubbles and float like ghosts, you can't help but wonder whether creeping the hell out of kids everywhere was the plan all along. And by the time you reach the part with the elephant made entirely out of heads, each with sharp eyes and a menacing smile, you too will be screaming in your sleep.
