7. Beavis And Butthead Do America
In their misguided quest to retrieve a stolen TV set, and somewhere between their 'roles' as oblivious hitmen and unwitting terrorists, our duo find themselves dried up and delirious in the Arizona desert. This sun-drenched madness might explain just why Beavis would choose to chomp on a peyote cactus, a root that doubles as a psychoactive drug. ''Hey, Butthead, I'm starting to feel weird. I think I'm freaking out'' he tells his companion. ''Ummmmm...okay'' comes the less than concerned reply. '' There's all these weird shapes,'' Beavis continues, ''and it's like, it's like...it's like a music video!'' Thus follows a truly terrifying fever dream (imagine Hieronymus Bosch mixed with Rocko's Modern Life), offering such delights as the pair rocking until their skin falls off and a group of devils crawling out of Butthead's face and trampling him into the ground. Skulls, fire, guitars, motorbikes...it's like every rock video you've seen all rolled into one. Which is sort of the point, given that the sequence is based on the artwork designs of Rob Zombie, whose band White Zombie also provide the soundtrack, "Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks and Cannibal Girls". Remember, kids: don't do drugs.
