2. Margot Robbie - Harley Quinn (Birds Of Prey & The Suicide Squad)

She may be another returning character after making her debut in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, but the Harley Quinn who turns up in Birds Of Prey will be entirely different. She qualifies as worthy of consideration alongside all of these new performances because the role is a reinvention and an emancipation - as the title confirms - with Margot Robbie reclaiming Quinn for herself.

She doesn't have all that much work to do, to be fair, because Quinn was one of the only elements of Suicide Squad that could be reasonably called anything close to beloved. But Robbie's agenda has been a big part of the Birds Of Prey production process and seeing HER take on the character is very exciting.

Even better, we then get to see her take another crack at a Suicide Squad project too, without the looming shadow of her juggalo crime lord ex-boyfriend stinking things up.
