Release Date: May 15th, 2015 Pitch Perfect was a goofy, daft movie about a female a capella group and the various dramas in their lives as they tried to make their way to the Nationals. Despite being an extremely cheesy take on the song-and-dance movie formula, the film did relatively well with critics, and made a storm at the box office, grossing $113 million against a small $17 million budget. To put that into perspective, the Anna Kendrick-starring comedy defied the odds to make serious box office bank based on a pretty niche subject, but does that mean we need a second one? Actress Elizabeth Banks, who produced the first film, is stepping into the director's chair for part two, but is there really any point? Aside from just repeating the same story again (another a capella competition), is there much ground to cover? Still, money evidently talks.
