12 Upcoming Movie Sequels You Definitely Didn't Need
7. Rush Hour 4
Release: Unknown
Premise: Carter and Lee go on a romantic trip to Russia and spend the weekend drinking vodka.
Preceded by: Rush Hour 3
Director Brett Ratner joked on the DVD commentary for Rush Hour 3 that Rush Hour 4 would be coming in 2012 - I know these things take time Brett, but come on, really? The casual racism, the mismatched cops, Chris Tucker's high-pitched squeal: who couldn't love the idea of Rush Hour? However, 10 years after we left Carter and Lee for the third time, does anyone want to see them again?
The idea would be to take the detectives to Moscow - because we all know how well that worked out for Die Hard - but little else is known. Possible stars for a fourth outing at one point included Danny DeVito and Jet Li, so best guess is they would have had some sort of funny double-buddy comedy with Tucker, Chan, and two more famous faces. In June 2015 Chan said Rush Hour 4 is "definitely happening," but hopefully another nail in the coffin is Brett Ratner's bombed Rush Hour TV series. Starring Jon Foo and Justin Hires, it was canned after just one season, so maybe this should be taken as a sign!
