11. Suicide Squad

Comic book movie adaptations can be quite the hit or miss affair – just look at the difference between the flop that was The Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds, and the success of Deadpool, also starring Reynolds, for proof – and it seems as though the upcoming David Ayer directed Suicide Squad could be destined for the same fate.

Fans of the original DC comics are currently caught up in a mix of excitement and apprehension ahead of the film’s early August release. How will Jared Leto’s Joker fare considering the tough act to follow that was Heath Ledger as the legendary villain in The Dark Knight? Why was Harley Quinn’s usual harlequin inspired get-up swapped for an outfit that looks like it was sourced entirely from Hot Topic (that’s an American emo-goth version of New Look for those not in the know)?

And most importantly, will Suicide Squad feature an official theme tune from Will Smith as Deadshot (best suggestion so far: Gettin’ Suicidey Wit It)? Only time will tell, but it's bound to split the old Marvel/DC fanboy ranks right down the middle again.
