12 Villains Who Must Appear In Affleck's Batman Movie
10. Scarecrow
As the Arkham Asylum games proved, having Scarecrow pop up to change the genre and add a horror element is a ready-made way to add an extra dimension to action sequences.
His modus operandi offers brilliant scope to introduce a horror movie-like sequence, and if Affleck is indeed adapting something like Arkham Asylum, the idea of Batman having to decipher what is real and what is toxin-inspired nightmare would be striking and potentially brilliant.
It's a travesty that we've not really seen any horror infused comic book movies (aside from Spawn and The Crow), particularly when the motif of fear is so important to Batman. Having a Batman film that cleverly deconstructs what he represents to turn his defining characteristics against him (Scarecrow representing fear, the Riddler intellect, the Joker darkness, Bane strength and so on) would be a beautiful ballet to watch.
