12 Ways 2016 Movies Definitely Made You Dumber

7. Adam Sandler Is Still Allowed To Make Them

Why, oh why Adam Sandler is still allowed to produce films today is anybody’s guess. Suffering from a severe lack of anything even vaguely resembling comedy, his recent movies are basically vanity projects that seem like a thinly disguised scheme to get studios to pay for him to go on holiday with his best buddies who just so happen to constantly appear in co-starring roles.

It’s a shame because Sandler has proved he can be great in more dramatic roles like in Punch-Drunk Love and Reign Over me, but quality seems to head south whenever his production company Happy Madison gets involved.

At least these days, the most recent Sandler produced films have been confined to Netflix rather than inflicted upon audiences via wide theatrical releases. But still, the fact that his crappy Happy Madison productions are getting exposure and investment from a Fortune 500 company must mean that at least some people are interested in watching idiotically bad films like last year’s The Ridiculous 6 and this year’s The Do-Over. Which is just unacceptable.

The Do-Over isn’t even the last Sandler produced movie we’ll see for a while either as two more are set for Netflix releases in the next few years. Shame on you, Netflix.
