12 Ways James Cameron Can Save The Terminator Franchise

4. Usher Arnie Out Of The Franchise

It will pain any huge Terminator fan to admit this, but as fun as Arnold Schwarzenegger is in these movies, he's also a bit of an anchor who's arguably holding the franchise back from doing anything truly adventurous.

Arnie was certainly the most entertaining aspect of Genisys, but if the new movies decide to ditch the iconography associated with his presence and start anew, then they can create some iconic new imagery of their own.

After all, Arnie is 70 years of age now, so how many more Terminator movies can he convincingly appear in?

Will It Happen?: Arnie is already confirmed to be returning for T6, so no. It's been suggested that he's probably playing a human character this time around, which seems sensible, but hopefully it'll also be his swan song before he truly starts outstaying his welcome.
