12 Worst Casting Decisions In Spider-Man Movies

10. Marisa Tomei As Aunt May (Homecoming)

It's odd that Aunt May appears to de-age across the Spider-Man movie series, like the female equivalent of Benjamin Button.

Casting a relatively younger actress - okay, she's 52, but doesn't look it - as Peter's paternal figure in the shape of Marisa Tomei only detracted from the character, who is traditionally a key source of wisdom and guidance for the hero.

Not only is the dynamic between Peter and May more like a little-brother-big-sister scenario, Homecoming really lowers the tone with its sheer volume of 'hot aunt' jokes.

What's more, Tomei really had her work cut out competing with Rosemary Harris's definitive Aunt May from the Sam Raimi trilogy.

We get it. Homecoming was going for something a little different, but the 'hot' Aunt May who Tony Stark cannot resist hitting on at every opportunity just doesn't sit right.
