Naomi Ackie's first movie role was alongside Florence Pugh in 2016's Lady Macbeth, and since then she's had a fairly sparse collection of TV and low-key movie roles.

But that's all set to change next year, as she's been cast in a currently unnamed role in Star Wars: Episode IX. If rumours are to be believed, she'll in fact be playing Lando Calrissian's daughter, which is sure to boost her star profile all the way to the moon.

Even if the rumour turns out to be total bunk, there's no denying the clout that even the most minor Star Wars credit brings any actor. But considering how fantastic her performance was in Lady Macbeth, it's highly unlikely she's been hired to play a glorified extra.

Hopefully she'll have an easier time with her newfound fame than The Last Jedi's Kelly Marie Tran, though.
