13 Actors Who Could Be The Breakout Stars Of 2019
6. Florence Pugh
Florence Pugh blew everyone away with her searing performance in 2016's Lady Macbeth, though without appearing in a single 2017 movie, she seemed to lose most of her momentum right out of the gate.
2018 meanwhile saw her have a small supporting role in Liam Neeson's The Commuter, memorably playing Elizabeth Burgh in Netflix epic Outlaw King and unmemorably playing the lead in forgettable Netflix horror flick Malevolent.
This year hasn't exactly seen Pugh capitalise on that early promise, but 2019 looks decidedly more exciting for the actress.
First, she's set to star as WWE's Paige in the comedic biopic Fighting with My Family, which she'll follow-up by starring in Hereditary director Ari Aster's new film Midsommar, and end the year co-starring in Greta Gerwig's Oscar-courting adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel Little Women.
These three films have all her bases covered: she's got the crowd-pleasing sports biopic, the critic-friendly horror film and the awards-baiting prestige effort. Way to go.
