13 Announced Movie Remakes Which Could Be Awesome
6. Highlander

The Original: Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery made solid gold out of this thoroughly daft 1986 fantasy-adventure classic, which perfectly casts Lambert as an immortal Scottish swordsman and Connery as his mentor.
Focused less on narrative coherence than on its exuberant style, knowingly over-the-top performances and genuinely intriguing world-building, Highlander has endured for damn fine reason.
The Remake: Plans for a remake were first announced over a decade ago, though numerous iterations have since been scrapped - including one set to star Ryan Reynolds - and only in 2016 did current director Chad Stahelski (the John Wick trilogy) become attached.
The script will be written by Ryan J. Condal (Hercules, Rampage), whose prior works have at least proven he doesn't tend to take himself too seriously (a pre-requisite for penning a Highlander movie, really).
No word yet on who will be filling Lambert or Connery's shoes, but Dave Bautista is already set to play the villainous Kurgan (played by Clancy Brown in the original).
Production is still awaiting the go-ahead, but accepting Stahelski's immense action chops, it's easy to be optimistic about this one.
