13 Awesome Comic Book Movie Facts You Didn't Know In 2014

11. Sir Ian McKellen Will Be Back In X-Men: Apocalypse

Despite reports as recently as January that neither of the franchise's two oldest heads would appear in Singer's next X-Men movie, it seems Sir Ian McKellen will play some part. The fact was basically confirmed by McKellen's great friend, Sir Patrick Stewart:
"Yes, I understand that it seems to be very unlikely that I will be in the next X-Men movie, which is almost getting ready to start shooting in Montreal, but Magneto, Ian McKellen, is certainly going to be in it."
It makes sense of course: there's no way anyone could sell the idea of James McAvoy going from reasonable young and fresh-faced to Stewart in the space of 10 years (even taking into account the awful Photoshopped version featured in the Last Stand flash-back). You have to suspect that McKellen will play another future version of Magneto looking back in time at the events in the '80s. Because surely they won't do time-travelling again?
