6. Jane Goldman Will Write Fables
Having been in production since around 1649, the Fables movie was written off in some quarters as one for the Development Hell pile, but it seems that 2015 is the year that something actually happens. According to Comic Book Resources, Kick-Ass writer Jane Goldman has been hired to write the long-planned adaptation, and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo scripter Nikolaj Arcel will direct, as David Heyman confirmed:
did a draft, and now hes supervising Jane, whos doing a draft. Hoping that itll come in and well be able to move to the next stage. All these things always take longer than you want. And Fables is not easy, by any means, but I think itll be pretty great.
That's massive news for fans of the comic book series - which was also suspected as a great adaptation prospect, but whether this will prove to be yet another false start remains to be seen.
