13 Awesome Films You Forgot Were Christmas Movies

9 & 8. Die Hard 1 & 2

Die Hard 2 Bruce Willis
Fox

There are two types of people in this world: those who think Die Hard is a Christmas film, and those who are just plain wrong. John McTiernan's masterful actioner may be mostly concerned with pithy one-liners and awesome shootouts, but it's also set on Christmas Eve, and ultimately revolves around a regular guy, John McClane (Bruce Willis), just trying to patch things up with his wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), who's caught in the middle of the worst Christmas party ever.

What is Christmas if not time to spend with family? That's why McClane is so damn relatable and likeable in this movie. In addition, it's got McClane killing a terrorist and writing "Now I have a machine gun ho ho ho" in his blood, and "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" playing over the end credits. What more could you want?

Though not a patch on the original, Die Hard 2 again takes place on Christmas Eve and has McClane trying to rescue his wife's plane before terrorists (who have taken over the air traffic control system) make it crash. And of course, Let It Snow is back!
