The Moment: The aliens begin attacking various worldwide cities. In one scene, we see an unspecified, possibly American city being ripped into the air, after which David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) says, "What goes up...must come down", and we then see the same attack taking place in London, with all the debris raised into the air then being thrown back down onto the hapless citizens. Why It's Awesome: It may seem like the fairly standard sort of garden variety destruction porn we've seen in just about any Michael Bay or Roland Emmerich CGI-fest, but it sure does look pretty, and further suggests that the film might live up to the goofy, visually awesome thrills of the 1996 classic. Plus, could this be a rare blockbuster actually worth seeing in 3D, for all of that flying debris?
