8. Christopher Walken As King Louie - The Jungle Book

The Moment: Mowgli (Neel Sethi) meets with King Louie, who tells him, "You are a man-cub who wants to live in the jungle". When Mowgli asks how he knows that, he says, "Kid, I got ears. My ears got ears." Why It's Awesome: It instantly shows off how well-suited Walken is to the role of Louie, even if it may end up as a case of the audience never being able to hear the character past Walken's iconic voice. It also makes it clear that this version of Louie is no mere orangutan: he is much larger and is later shown chasing after Mowgli, smashing through a building, suggesting he is likely modeled after the extinct Gigantopithecus ape. Tinkering with iconic properties is a challenge, but this actually seems like a pretty smart revision to the character.
