13 Awful Movie Sequel Titles We Wish Were Scrapped

11. Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter

After three commercially successful Friday the 13th movies, Paramount actually seemed to be doing the smart thing by giving their franchise a logical end point before it became another insufferably never-ending horror franchise. The fourth movie is entitled Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, a not especially imaginative title but one that at least sells the idea that this will be the final Friday the 13th movie, and Jason will probably die for good at the end of it, right? Well, Jason does die at the end of the movie, but this isn't the "final chapter", not by a long shot. The fifth film, A New Beginning, had a fake Jason, and then he was full-out resurrected in the sixth film, Jason Lives. In fact, the original Friday the 13th series finally concluded with its tenth film, the hilarious Jason X, but not before the ninth movie again made false promises with its title of The Final Friday. The title of part four may have been concocted with the genuine intention to bring the series to a close, but money talks, and in retrospect it just sticks out like a sore thumb, considering it's not even half-way through the series.
