13 Awful Movies With 1 Awesome Scene
3. "I've Got You Under My Skin" - Gamer
The Awful Movie: Crank directors Neveldine/Taylor attempt a very different video game movie...by not actually adapting an existing property at all.
Though it boasts an amusing B-movie premise, Gamer is largely hampered by unsavoury commentary on the gaming community, visually messy direction, heavy-handed writing and headache-inducing editing. Another atrocious video game movie to join the pile, then.
The Awesome Scene: When protagonist Cable (Gerard Butler) reaches the lair of big bad Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall), he's greeted by Castle and his cronies dancing along to Sammy Davis Jr's version of the classic tune "I've Got You Under My Skin".
Hall clearly knows he's in a dud and just hams it up for the cheap seats, taking the camp to hilariously entertaining levels, before Butler of course lets loose and beats his lackeys to a bloody mess.
It's a genuinely well-executed scene, though, neatly conveying how much control Castle has over people along with Cable's bada**ery.
