13 Best Character Introductions In MCU Movies

5. Star-Lord (Guardians Of The Galaxy)

After an opening flashback depicts the death of young Peter Quill's mother and his abduction from Earth by Yondu (Michael Rooker), the scene shifts to the present, where Quill now goes by his self-appointed superhero moniker Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).

Quill is exploring the alien ruins of the remote planet Morag, when he puts on his headphones and starts dancing away to Redbone's indellible rock classic, "Come and Get Your Love."

Soon enough, Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and his men arrive on the scene, hilariously have zero respect for Quill's superhero name, and a fight breaks out, with Quill just barely escaping Morag with the Orb in tow.

And because that's not enough, as Quill flies away in the Milano, he remembers that his most recent bed-fellow, a red-skinned female alien, is still aboard his ship.

It may not be a snappy introduction, but it nevertheless gets across everything you need to know about Star-Lord: he's a goofball, he loves his cassette player, nobody cares who he is, and he's a bit of a slut. Perfect.
