When Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock) prepares to kill Stuart and Bob, Kevin sneaks into her husband Herbs (Jon Hamm) lab, where after a little tinkering around, he inadvertently activates the "ultimate weapon", which transforms him into a giant, Godzilla-sized version of himself. Cue a hilarious sequence in which Kevin stomps around London like a classic movie monster in search of his friends, and after getting them to safety, he faces off against Scarlet. After eating a rocket and ensuring Scarlet and Herb can't escape, there's a huge explosion in the sky, causing the other Minions to assume that Kevin didn't make it. They mourn Kevin, but moments later, he returns in regular size, riding his comically oversized overalls all the way back to the ground. It's the sort of inspired idea every Minions fan would want to see, and the movie just totally ran with it.
