3. The Karate Kid Part II...Again

The Pitch: Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan return for a sequel to the surprisingly entertaining 2010 remake. In April last year, it was announced that Breck Eisner (Sahara The Crazies) would be directing. What Happened?: Nothing. It's just clear that, considering the first movie came out almost 5 years ago, the window of opportunity has pretty much passed for a sequel. Jaden Smith is much older now, and those who enjoyed the original will likely have grown up and pointed their interest elsewhere. This is exactly the sort of movie that should've come out in 2012 or at the very latest 2013. Why didn't it? That's right, because Smith was starring in the critical and commercial dud After Earth, which cemented his lack of box office pull once he'd aged out of being a cute little kid. Much like the "original" Karate Kid sequel, it's totally pointless, but with a 2015 release pretty much impossible now, it could only happen 6 years after the fact, which just doesn't seem all that likely.
