13 Cringe-Worthy Movie Moments That Completely Ruined Great Songs

2. Goodbye Horses (Q Lazzarus) - The Silence Of The Lambs

One of the most iconic and disturbing scenes in cinema history featured serial killer Buffalo Bill listening to Q Lazzarus' insanely catchy Goodbye Horses, while applying make-up, playing with his nipple piercing and while putting on his lipstick, rhetorically stating, "Would you f*** me? I'd f*** me. I'd f*** me hard. I'd f*** me so hard." All this takes place while his kidnap victim, Catherine Martin, is trying to lure his dog into a bucket so she can turn the tables on Bill. The kicker comes at the end of the scene: the money shot has Bill dancing around in front of his camera, before tucking in his junk and then posing in front of it for all to see. It's a supremely disturbing collection of images and ideas, and though it no doubt gave the song a huge boost in popularity, it also made it forever associated with a dude who likes to kill women and wear their skin. Since then, the song has been used primarily as a reference to or parody of The Silence of the Lambs, such as in Clerks 2 and the remake of Maniac.
