13 Disturbing Disney Moments That Ruined Your Childhood

2. The Horned King's Demise - The Black Cauldron

Whilst the creation of the Cauldron born definitely holds a spot as one of the most intense Disney moments ever, with the inception of a horrifying brood of undead skeletons rising from their resting places to form a haunted army rightly traumatising children the world over, there's another scene in The Black Cauldron that was nightmare fuel to those unfortunate enough to make it to the end. And that's the death of the Horned King.

Succumbing to his own powerful pot and getting sucked into the cauldron's vortex of death, the Horned King is slowly torn apart as the cauldron's magic spirals out of control, consuming everything in its path in a glowing red rage.

Honestly, this film is one of the scariest efforts that Disney have ever put out, and has been long buried ever since in an effort to forget the years where Mickey wasn't all rainbows and smiles. It's all the whimsy you know and love wrapped up in a black metal casing of supernatural terrors.
