13 Dumbest Movie Plot Twists Of 2018
9. Dr. Sartain Is A Secret Maniac - Halloween
Because it apparently wasn't a neat enough twist that the new Halloween concluded with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) turning the tables on Michael Myers and stalking him through her fortress of a home, we got this extra slice of mid-film silliness for no real reason.
Dr. Ranbir Sartain (Haluk Bilginer) is introduced early in the movie and amusingly referred to as "the new Loomis" by Laurie, but perhaps in an attempt to make him more than a Loomis 2018, he ends up revealing a dark, twisted side.
Sartain is obsessed with knowing why Michael does what he does, resulting in him killing sheriff's deputy Hawkins (Will Patton) and helping Michael escape custody, but not before giving Michael's mask a try for himself.
The sole reason for this twist was simply to get Michael and Laurie in the same location for their final showdown, and from a screenplay perspective it's about as transparent and lazy as it gets.
The only small solace is that Sartain at least gets a suitably grisly death, having his head stomped into a gory mess once Michael retrieves his mask.
