13 Great Actors Who Star In Multiple Film Franchises

4. Ian McKellen

What You Get: The X-Men Franchise, The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit Franchise You get a lot with McKellen, but the negative is that all of his best film work seems to have splashed in his older age, meaning that he won't be around too much longer (eh, he's only 73), but also leaves a lot to be desired for what he can keep doing. However, with all of his fantastic films, you do get Doogal and one of my personal favorites, Last Action Hero.

3. Harrison Ford

What You Get: The Star Wars Franchise, The Indiana Jones Franchise When you really think about it, buying Ford means you're really only buying the franchises that made him popular....and some real classics including The Conversation, American Graffiti, and Blade Runner. However, you're also bringing home a whole lot of mediocre in his recent filmography. I'd rather not have to watch Firewall, Cowboys & Aliens, What Lies Beneath, and I heard from somewhere that he actually completed a fourth Indy movie. I couldn't tell you how it was. I couldn't see the movie past the twenty minute mark from the blood that spontaneously started flowing from my eyes.

2. Gary Oldman

What You Get: The Batman Franchise, The Harry Potter Franchise, The Hannibal Lector Franchise Oldman's got a fantastic franchise selection and his solo films provide for a lot of great cinematic adventures that include fan-favorites like The Fifth Element, True Romance, Sid & Nancy, Leon: The Professional, Air Force One, and Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy. But he's not impervious to a few slip-ups, as seen in The Unborn, Planet 51, Red Riding Hood, and Lost in Space. Still, a smart choice given your current situation.

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
