13 Incredible Moments In Otherwise Forgettable Movies
11. Quicksilver Evacuates The X-Mansion - X-Men: Apocalypse
The Movie: Despite the potential brilliance of a movie that fully bridges the gap between X-Men characters old and new, all while introducing the iconic comic book villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), this was a snoozily generic superhero film that trundled out genre tropes like it was a sport.
In addition to doing little interesting with either its heroes or its statuesque villain, the 144-minute run-time is absolutely brutal.
The Scene: Impressively living up to the iconic "Time in a Bottle" Quicksilver scene from Days of Future Past, Apocalypse sees the super-fast mutant whizzing around the X-Mansion as he evacuates the students before an explosion can incinerate them.
Set to Eurythmics' iconic "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", the visually stunning set-piece shows Quicksilver playfully rescuing the students - and even a pizza-loving dog - with a stylish ingenuity the rest of the movie clearly didn't deserve.
