13 Long-Delayed Film Projects We Wish Would Get Made Already

7. Collider

Originally Announced: July 2012 Status: Possibly Edgar Wright's next movie after Ant-Man. Plot Details: Thanks to the fact that it's being produced by J.J. Abrams, we know absolutely nothing about the plot. Apparently, it's supposed to be a "serious horror film," according to screenwriter Mark Protosevich. Why Has It Been Delayed? Edgar Wright's currently working on Ant-Man, which is set for a July 2015 release. There's actually positive news regarding this one. Collider looks like it's still very much happening. News about Collider first made public when Edgar Wright was gearing up for The World's End, and while the director is deep into the production of Marvel's Ant-Man, he still seems to be very much on board to direct the film. The only problem is that we probably won't get to see Collider until at least 2017 (2016 if we're lucky). The project's been set up with J.J. Abrams's company Bad Robot Productions and news about the film has been kept under wraps, but the possibility of Edgar Wright moving into serious horror territory sounds very intriguing. Wright is primarily known for his comic sensibilities, but he has always showcased an incredible sense of style, which would translate well into the horror genre. Curiously, when the Collider project was originally announced in 2012, many trades described it as a sci-fi film. So which is it? Horror? Sci-fi? Maybe it will it be both?
