13 Major Revelations And Hints From The Ant-Man Trailer

8. Hope Is Working With Scott Lang (And Cross)

Though it seems very likely that Hope Van Dyn won't be on speaking terms with her father at the start of the movie, that doesn't mean she's a villain. That's a flash of her in the trailer walking alongside Cross, seemingly peacefully, and the casual way she walks around Pym Technologies implies she's an employee of the new boss. But her allegiances aren't that simple. Later in the trailer, she's obviously training Lang, so it would seem that either her allegiances have changed by that point and she's been convinced to work with her father again, or she was undercover all along. And of course the fact that she's the one who trains up Lang - or at least spars with him - begs the question of where her father has gone by then. Maybe he's just taking a back seat and they're friendly again; but the emotional slant of the trailer suggests he's probably going to die to heap emphasis on Lang's ultimate "second chance" with his daughter. Is Michael Pena Pym's inside man? Is he going to be Cross' right-hand man? The fact that he's not seen with Cross physically implies it's not the latter and he seems too much of a profile actor to just be a security stooge (and to get his own shot in the trailer). It's intriguing at least.
