Remember when Ben Affleck was cast as the Caped Crusader back in the summer of 2013, and the Internet straight-up couldn't handle it?

There are reams of archived message board posts where people not only dismissed the notion of Daredevil star Affleck ever playing another costumed superhero, but deemed the DCEU as a whole completely doomed as a result.

As it turned out, a double helping of crow was on the menu for millions of angry fans, as Affleck turned out to be the most consistently praised element of Batman v Superman, and now that his future in the DCEU is uncertain, everyone's desperate for him to stay.

Quite the turnaround, then, and proof that alongside the prior controversial castings of Michael Keaton as Batman and Heath Ledger as The Joker, it's best to resist completely trashing something until you see it for yourself.
